About the GInza Design Council
Background and Purpose of Establishment
In 2006, Chuo Ward positioned the Design Council as a local organization aimed at achieving deliberative town planning, as set out in the Urban Development Guidelines. On the Chuo Ward website you can find further explanations. In the Ginza district, the Ginza Design Council was officially designated by Chuo Ward (in November 2006) and operates with the Ginza Town Development Council as its secretariat. In this role, it engages in consultations with developers regarding projects of a certain scale and construction, working to devise plans that befit the character of Ginza.
Organizational Structure of the Ginza Design Council
The council is composed of core members centered on the Ginza Town
Development Council, representatives from local street and district associations in
the project area, and a number of experts.
